The 'Opus One' is the culmination of a lifetime pursuit of 'avant garde' surfboard design and Signals beginning of a new generation of the Modern Planing Hull.
This second generation Vanguard design is blended with Fluid Dynamic Hull Architecture of a Chined Edge/Quad Concave into Vee. Complimented with a "Spoon - Single to Double Concave deck". This Craft signifies High-Performance Engineering expressed in Thought Provoking Form.
Featuring The Classic MPH 'Ultra parallel' Outline with a new 'Arrow Head' Nose profile and Classic TOMO 'Flyer to Twin Diamond tail' PLUS an Extra Low overall Rocker… This Design will have all the speed/flow and ease of use synonymous with Tomo MPH shapes.
The Chined Rail and Quad Concave combo will allow the design to lift and reduce the wetted surface area once up and planing, therefore reducing drag and increasing manoeuvrability while at speed due to the reduced apparent width at the central wide point. The Effective Lift created from this hull design will self-optimise surface area depending on the speed, making the ride quality predictable and well-mannered in a wide range of wave conditions.
The Single to Double Concave "Spoon Deck" is a complementary innovation to the Chine Edge Hull. Allowing the rider's centre of Gravity to be lower in the board and closer to the water. Given the rider a greater connectedness to the design and control through a dynamic range of situations, with the added bonus of creating an ergonomic contour for paddling.
Due to the effective distribution of Foam, this design provides exceptional flotation despite the concave deck and is recommended to be sized 1 Litre less volume than typically ridden for maximum performance.
Designed as a Quad fin. Optimal in a Wide Range of Conditions 1ft–8ft.
